There are times when creating a menu that you will need to have a “static page” with no content and yet have the subpages show in the menu.

Here are the 5 steps to creating a static menu item in WordPress:

1 – Go to Appearance >> Menus and click on the Links tab on the left.

2 – Click on the Link tab and enter your homepage url and the name for the static menu item.

3 – Add the new item to your menu, and add it’s child pages to it.

4- Then delete the URL you added and click the SAVE button.

5 – Now your menu will show no link to the top level page, and will show the links for the child pages.
