“Responsiveness” in web design has been the major buzz word in web designer circles.  It’s become de rigeur for clients to ask for responsive designs and I only work with WordPress themes that have the built-in capability to perform well across devices.
If the theme demo for your chosen WordPress theme doesn’t give you a chance to see how the theme perform responsively, Firefox has a simple way to check how your site appears in a variety of sizes.
Open Firefox and go to the URL for the site you wish to check.
You need to have the Web Developer Add-On for Firefox, available here.
Once on the site, click on Tools >> Web Developer >> Responsive Design View.
There you can choose a number of different standard mobile sizes, and you can add custom sizes as well if you wish.
